But being a *fan* often elevates the thing over people and incentivizes defensiveness, fights, and anti-social behaviors

We don’t need any new laws or ID requirements for voting. There is no voting fraud problem in the US. The issue is simply a voter suppression scam cooked up by the GOP, relentlessly repeated with fake studies and op-eds, no matter how often it’s debunked. There is no reason for new restrictions.
