Google's embrace of AI summaries is way more dangerous than any other AI company right now just because everybody uses Google. The average person can't be expected to be always on guard when they're just googling a major company's phone number and call the first thing that pops up.
my wife googled “united airlines customer service” the other day and the AI summary seemed legit enough so she called the number that it listed. she got like 30 seconds into the call before they were asking for her BANK INFO. a scammer had gotten their number prominent enough that the AI grabbed it.

I guess I am once again asking for help finding a narrative design/
game writing job. I have been doing this for almost two decades, I am good at what I do, I wrote Lily’s Garden which made a half billion dollars, and I do not have enough money to keep on living, so…help would be welcome
Just kill me dude. Just fuckin kill me.

Hey new Bluesky users: this website has no centralized algorithm.

If you think it seems dead in here, it's absolutely not.

However, you are going to have to follow more people than you did on Twitter to see a lot of action in your Home feed.

Hi artists newly arrived here. Bsky is fun, but it also hasn't lost multiple privacy legal cases like Twitter has. So, despite how there's not as nefarious ownership here, you can assume it's the wild west in terms of your privacy and rights. So glaze your artwork if you post it.

I’m already getting a bunch of inquiries from new folks about breaking into the #videogame #gamedev industry based on my big career announcement yesterday. I’m a big believer in making sure any advice I share is equally accessible to all, so here’s my new post: cherylplatz.medium.com/breaking-in-...
Breaking In to a Game Industry in Crisis
The worst gaming job market in recent memory doesn’t cure the heart of its big career dreams. How can you safely channel that energy?

23andMe is on the brink. What happens to all its DNA data?
The once-hot Silicon Valley startup has seen its stock’s value decline 99% and is struggling to survive. That has put the spotlight on the genetic data it has on 15 million people.

Twitter is removing the Circles feature next month. Those of you who have used it, you may want to go over your Circle-only posts and delete anything sensitive from there, because knowing Musk, Circle-only posts won't be deleted, they'll just be made open and public for everyone to see.
