Great to spend time today with firefighter watch at Poplar Fire Station.

Always an absolute honour to spend time with people who spend their lives keeping us safe.

Thank you. ✊🏼

She doesn't drive because of her conditions. This was in the street as she went to get groceries, in her wheelchair.

And frankly, she shouldn't have to record her life to live it in peace.

I'd rather MPs stop feeding the idea that attacking vulnerable groups is OK, and take abuse seriously.

Got a bloody cheek cheering. Only took them 18 months. Took a so-called labour govt 18 months to scrap the 2-child benefit cap in the 6th richest country on earth. Anything less than dealing with child poverty as the emergency it was when they took office was never gonna be sufficient.

Alongside many campaigners, the Green Party have absolutely dragged the Labour Government to finally end the child cap.

Labour politicians disgracefully defended it for far too long.

This shows why the Green Party membership rising and rising matters.

NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

New piece:

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

Dishonest Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: "Our free breakfast clubs are ensuring over half a million more children don’t start the school day hungry."

The first of these clubs won't start until April 2026, most are scheduled to open in September 2026, or 2027...

These kids are still hungry...

Love it when the free market tells me a new thing is here whether I like it or not and I just have to learn to deal with it. Better than a workers' state dictating terms to private enterprises, right?

So we've got to wait until 2028 for a slight change to Council Tax when the whole system needs an overhaul. It's a regressive tax with those of us in lower value homes paying more proportionally than people living in high value homes. I'm waiting for a govt to have the cojones to fix it.

Trial by jury is a cornerstone of our democracy and an essential safeguard against authoritarianism.

It is truly frightening that such a fundamental freedom is now under attack.

Once rights are lost, they are not easy to win back. We must resist this with all we’ve got.

Another reason to abolish the House of Lords. Nevertheless, it is very disappointing to read that Green Party Peers were involved.
An open letter to Zack Polanski

We hope that Green Party Peers will see sense and commit to backing working people ✅
