Wants clean air and covid vaccines that work, to protect our kids and their futures.
Latest knives out is phenomenal. Brolin, and Close are predictably, absurdly good but Josh O'Connor is simply mesmerising. I found it not only quite funny, but it transcended the genre entirely. I really hope the people who could learn by watching, do.
Even as a gentle little chuckle films the Knives Out series is great 🔪🩸

These photographs from Christopher Anderson are breathtaking not only for their audacity, but the expressions, postures and framing often evoke photographs and paintings from the past, imbuing meaning and gravitas. I find the Rubio shots slightly more sympathetic than the others. Extraordinary work.
The photographer on that boat was Christopher Anderson, who, 25 years later, snapped the famous photos of the Trump administration for Vanity Fair.

Australian here 👋

Stop saying the tragedy in Sydney demonstrates that strict gun laws don’t work.

There were ZERO mass shootings in Australia in the two decades after strict gun laws were passed in 1996.

We have so much we need to do, but strict gun laws remain a critical part of the solution.

In Australia politicians at every level use their offices as collection points for various charities across the year, to distribute food, toiletries, toys etc. A former local politician used a 1/3 of his income hosting free breakfasts at schools and free BBQs at local parks.

Where there's a will.
Saw a take like "the DNC should be distributing food while food stamps are suspended" and I don't think people realize how small the DNC budget is?

The responses in this Threads are perfect. Clearly communicating important facts while remaining kind.

Honestly so grateful to not just see pointless memes, snarky comments or endless links to some unrelated cause. Not confident of seeing the same response in Bluesky tbh.
Whoa.. Providing food for others with her SNAP benefits? I do believe that is fraud, good sir.

Sorry, no link to the threads post. According to the comments, he went private after the backlash anyway.

During a military-style raid on a building in Chicago’s South Shore, one resident heard a knock on his door.

It wasn’t the feds —  it was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for help.

He let them hide in his unit for the next 3 days.

@mcuban.bsky.social gets a lot of grief for being a pragmatist living in the real world where he's responsible for ensuring his businesses remain viable. Intel giving Trump a 10% stake sucks but if it's s what they felt they had to do to survive the next few years and keep people employed, I get it.
Cuban explains why companies like Intel are happy to give fascists a cut. The wealthiest people in the country see it as a smaller sacrifice than what progressives are proposing in higher taxes.
I’m the furthest from a Trump fan. But the reality is that he would have to shake very hard to equate to the shakedowns of the unrealized cap gains tax and warren’s tax that were proposed.

Interesting that on reddit, there's a calm discussion on the pros and cons by people actually affected, but on Bluesky it's all outrage without any detail. Pretty disappointed in the level of discussion here. Every issue seems the same.

More Republican lawmakers demand legal action over Canadian wildfire smoke
The Republican lawmakers called for an investigation of Canada's wildfire management practices and for potential remedies under international law, saying Canada must face "real consequences."
