I read Empire of the Vampire recently by Jay Kristoff and I feel like I lost a few brain cells. If you're going to anachronistically mix languages and cultures, at least do it consistently but he goes from clearly French inspired names to dropping English swears as well as basically writing like

One hidden (?) gem: the XOR lemma for probability distributions, which gives a computationally efficient and cute way to "tensorize" total variation (TV) distances, the way just taking products doesn't.
Below, the "baby version" (for k=2 pairs) which implies the general case (k pairs) by induction.

This is our fifth map in the Autumn Lands series. This focuses in on the head of the valley between the mountain ranges in the other maps of the region, with a tall cliff-face with dramatic waterfalls separating it from the lower area.
