i am getting kind of sick of seeing anecdotes like “kids can’t read or tell time or tie their shoes—even in high school” and the problem being framed only as kids and parents and not you know, an entire failing school system, and an economy where parents are underpaid, unsupported, and overwhelmed

Sometimes I save tv shows I know I will enjoy for a future time when I’ll need them. I started Hacks on Friday and saving it for now might be one of the smartest acts of self care I’ve done in ages.

My kid’s school had a lockdown this morning. It was downgraded to a shelter in place and then they got an all clear to return back to normal. The normal where this shit happens and the everyone acts like this is fine. So no, I don’t have a lot of empathy for assholes who stoke these violent fires.

There are so many reasons to be pissed at RFKjr and what he’s doing to the health of our country we shouldn’t have to resort to making comments about his health or appearance.

If unions didn’t matter, corporations wouldn’t spend millions to stop them.
We celebrate Labor Day in September rather than May 1st in the United States because the Grover Cleveland administration worried that celebrating it in May like other countries would strengthen left-wing movements around the world. Enjoy your day!

Because of DOGE, the Trump Administration is going to spend $130,000 to burn $800,000 of food that USAID intended for starving children overseas but couldn't deliver due to the massive cuts to staff and services.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
