I still don't know that I believe Epstein was really the grand elite convener that he wanted and imagined himself to be.

But he certainly bought access to that circle using underage girls as his currency, and as a consequence these files give us a shocking window into that world
What I’m seeing here is that Epstein is a nexus point for the “intellectual” cabal that shores up the race science justifying our current immigration and anti-DEI policies (Huberman), as well the tone policing moderates (Brooks) that hamstrings oppositions. Oh and their billionaire benefactors.

It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

Not feeling that TACO-surrender-pivot vibe. Maybe Senate Democrats should include ICE and CBP exiting Minnesota (and everywhere else that doesn't want them) as one of their conditions to pass the DHS funding bill.
Q: So you're not pulling back in Minnesota?

TRUMP: No no. Not at all.

Streets of Fury is an odd French digitized beat em up that became memed at some point for the line of dialog "see you in 10 years." now, 10 years later, they've made a 10 years edition, and it's discounted to 99 cents. I think that's neat. store.steampowered.com/app/350910/S...

So "SINNERS" is now the most Oscar-nominared movie ever - which is excellent both for history and the fact that somewhere Jeff Wells is having an anneurysm

Citing the exact reason it must be investigated as your rationale for not investigating.
BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.

None of which were the "bad" things about him, I stress. Until the web hit, newspaper comics WERE a solid "grindset" career choice if you could get hired and handle it. People have bills and drawing on deadline is a LABOR SKILL.
But it's important to recognize that not ever bad turn is a "fall."

...he could draw but wasn't an avowed artist (NOT a criticism!) and he pursued comics as one of *several* career options in what we'd today call a "grindstone mode," opting for it because it seemed "easiest" for his skillset and contacts at the time. When "DLLBERT" connected, he ran with it.

The missing part of Scott Adams' story, the way it's usually told, is that he didn't "stumble into" either Dilbert or his later "manfluencer" life path. He was always that guy, and he pursued both strategically and cynically. He did management training, followed the Dale Carnegie program, etc...

Take a second and think before posting the easy Eeyore reply. You might have something substantive to say instead. Or, even better, you can say nothing at all.

If you are anxious and sad about the state of the world, that's fine, and there are plenty of strategies for dealing with that. But I think you already know that drive-by online dooming isn't a strategy. It's selfish and adolescent. It's a contagion that only spreads the worst of you, not the best.

Finally, it's wrong AS A MATTER OF ETIQUETTE. Entering a total stranger's discussion and leading with your private anxiety is as off-putting in social media replies as it would be in real life. If you wouldn't interrupt a stranger at a party to announce that America is doomed, don't do it here.

Second, and probably most importantly, it's tactically wrong. "No point discussing political opposition to fascism, there won't be elections anyway" cedes victory to your enemies. It's defeatism and nihilism.

First, it's factually wrong. There will be elections in 2026 and 2028 under Trump, just like there were elections last year under Trump and during his first term. This despite one of the two major parties now harboring a lot of anti-democratic elements and ideas.
