Amusing: Google does not allow its devs to use its newly launched IDE, Antigravity, for development.

Classic example of “externalisation” at Google: they have an *internal* (increasingly different!) version of it, but they won’t use what they launched to everyone else

From street marches to court battles to the ballot box - we’ve challenged the power of this exceptionally unpopular president.

The lesson from each success we've had is that we need to ramp the political pressure up, always up, not back down, now more than ever.

The current GOP lie is that they’re going to replace Obamacare with something better.

Bullshit. In all of the majorities they’ve had since Obamacare passed, they’ve never once tried to replace it.

They’ve tried to repeal it a whole bunch, but never actually make it better.

I am so annoyed at scare tactics as a dark pattern trying to get you to upgrade your SaaS subscription.

This is Google Docs doing so. I am already a paying customer - and no, I don't have "sensitive files" shared externally.

Such a cheap way to try to get more $$, Google

When I posted yesterday about the White House being built with slave labor, one of the most common responses I got was "the east wing was built after slavery so it doesn't count!"
It's not lost on me that the part of the White House we are destroying is the part that has to do with women's history in the White House.
NEW: NBC News confirms that the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, on the east side of the White House, has been destroyed as part of the demolition of the East Wing.

A weird outcome of yesterday's AWS outage:

Atlassian's Status Page was down (customers could not record outages.)

So today, dashboards for companies that were down are green... because they could not record the downtime!!

Substack one example (the site was down, hard)

Scathing, but all too obviously accurate, take on the AWS outage by @quinnypig.com.

You're engaging in professional malpractice if you don't share this with your stakeholders. Corey may be an engineer, but he communicates about the issues in an accessible manner.

Some of the most unexpected fallouts of an AWS outage:

1. Postman stopped working: an API development tool built to be an alternative to simple tools like curl.

2. Eight Sleep customers couldn’t use their beds to change positions / set or keep temperature

One of the most limiting things any information security practitioner can do is assume that only way to secure something is through architectural patterns you are familiar with.

The ability to reliably derive conclusions from first principles is a superpower.

Raise your hand if you ever inadvertently caused a 2+ hour outage (which was impossible to fix in a deterministic manner) due to DNS misconfiguration. #itwasdns

"Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer."

That's who ICE arrested and disappeared as part of Donald Trump's immigration policy.

It's outrageous.

I've been pressing for answers and I'll keep pushing for accountability.

As a parent with a kid who’s starting to play games on the iPad, I’m so pissed at the predatory state of kid’s games.

1. I pay $7 to remove all ads from this game. Yet catch my kid watching ads - even after paying they are offered to watch for in-game rewards. WTH

You: ICE can't just detain a whole apartment building without probable cause! Fascism has finally come to America!

Me: There are ~1 million Black non-Hispanic and Afro-Latino men and boys living in NYC. In some years, NYPD does 700,000 stop and frisks. 90% of those happen to Black men and boys.
