Recent peer reviewed paleontology studies have suggested that T. rex had excellent depth perception, night vision better than an owl's, visual acuity better than an eagle's, and color vision better than ours. And how's this for a nightmarish reconstruction using balloons for accurately sized eyes?

To my delight, NASA’s Science Mission Directorate has sent me an actual expert panel evaluation of my “flatten the planets” proposal! Sadly, they decided not to fund it.

As I wrote on Twitter, in a normal sane world I would be a liberal Republican. We would do the thing where fun of me for being a heartless bean-counter and I make fun of you all for not understanding incentives and math, but instead I'm going to vote Blue until I die and also I now support unions.

"Before you tap your card, it [the credit card machine]'s gonna ask you a couple questions" is such a dystopian vibe. Like, independent of the fact that I'm being asked whether I want to tip on a bottle of iced tea from the amtrak cafe car. Even "tip" needs an agency-absolving euphemism.

i understand they're getting a lot of criticism, but just in general, i think it's great that harvard has its own college. i think more football teams should have their own colleges. imagine if there was a jets college. how fun would that be

I'm in the market for a robust mecha TTRPG system that can be applied to a homebrew world. I used Mekton but I felt it was too clunky and I personally think Lancer is too tied into its game world for its systems to make sense.
