What gets me is that fanfic/fanart creators have been talking about the subject of getting dogpiled, harassed, and pressured *for so many years now* about making dark/unsettling content, and let nobody listened to the canary in the coal mine because “stupid fandom drama”
alternatively we as a society could realize that fiction is about playing with dolls and that horrible things happening to them doesn't matter because it's all toys.

The cool thing about having real principles is that you can stand proudly by them even if people who you generally consider to the opposite of yourself might happen to nominally agree with them. This is a fair question to ask, but so is the opposite: do all the people complaining about the censorship of Horses also complain about the censorship of anime titty games and the like? Because you can only truly be against censorship by opposing it with both of these, not just one or the other.
