Bank robbers say asking permission to loot vaults would kill the bank robbing industry

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

“The air traffic system, in general, is stressed to the max,” a veteran air traffic controller working at a major East Coast airport told Forbes on Tuesday, adding “sick outs will continue to happen because the [controllers] aren’t fit for duty.”

Overstressed, Unpaid Air Traffic Controllers ‘Aren’t Fit For Duty,’ Says Agency Veteran
Cracks in the air travel system are widening, as air traffic controllers bear the strain of an understaffed system and no pay until the government shutdown ends.

Looks like the math just works for an anti-RN coalition, but it’s hard to see that happening again

Once again we see a dramatic, system-shaking insurgent left just fail, and sink back towards the habitual alphabet-soup...
phmarliere.bsky.social

We're in a full-blown constitutional crisis, with Article I completely inoperative & Article III not clearly operative. Whatever one wants to call our current political regime, it's neither a democracy nor a republic at this point.
juliusgoat.bsky.social
If the president can ignore court orders and illegally circumvent, Congress, there is no Constitution. It’s gone. There’s no enumerated right that the president can’t take from you, no law Congress can pass that is binding, and no court that can protect you from any of it. It’s the whole ballgame.

One of the huge tensions in climate is the use of farmland for solar farms. You know the solar farms that can help halt the climate crisis as opposed to the data farms that make it worse.
criminalerin.bsky.social
I am once again asking why these data centers are all fucking SECRETS

"A controversial plan to build a 2.2-million-square-foot data center on farmland may still happen. A rural community... is looking to settle a lawsuit recently filed by a development firm working for an unidentified tech giant."

Ruben Gallego on whether Trump is talking to Democrats:

“Look, the President clearly has some kind of dementia, so I think there's a he's probably talking to himself, or think he's talking to a Democrat, but I sincerely doubt that that's actually he's actually physically talking to a Democrat.“

This is all but literally one of the things that King James II did that led to the Glorious Revolution in 1688 and the English Bill of Rights in 1689. (Want to guess who used that document as a model in the 1770s and 1780s?)

And here we go. I never wrote this article, and yet it is cited here.

And of course, it sounds so plausible, I seriously checked whether I had forgotten it, or the footnote was slightly wrong.

"Are there pictures of Donald Trump with naked underage girls?"

"You're a poopyhead"

"I repeat, are there pictures of Donald Trump with naked underage girls?"

Silence.

Bondi ain't defending Trump on this one.

NOTABLE -- Pam Bondi refuses to answer direct questions about if the FBI has incriminating photos of Trump with half-naked young women, but instead deflects from them by attacking Sen. Whitehouse

RAJU: You swore in 2 GOP members during pro forma session. Why not swear in Grijalva? Does it have to do w/her signature on Epstein petition?

JOHNSON: It has nothing to do with that. We'll swear her in when everybody is back

R: Why not now?

J: Uh - we'll schedule it, I guess, as soon as she wants

When they perform outrage about social media posts, know exactly how bad their faith is
When a Guardian reporter pointed out on social media that the image was not a genuine photograph of the generally small and tame protests outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Portland, the Oregon Republican Party's X account replied: "We're not reporters, just bad memers."

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

Mr. Trump said "We could have much better health care than we have right now."

No kidding.

20+ million will see their premiums double. 15 million thrown off health care entirely.

Pres. Trump, in case you didn’t know, this is what the shutdown is about.

End your health care cuts.
