I had a heart attack on October 17th of this year. 2 stents were placed in my LAD artery and I spent 4 days in the hospital. All in (drugs, surgery cost, ER, ambulance) was about $340,000 before insurance. Fortunately, I do have insurance and I still paid about $20k out of pocket.

California pays way more to the Feds than it gets back. The state should start withholding money from the Feds.
