Everybody in the theater enjoyed it when I saw it so it has always felt weird to read the negativity towards it. OBVIOUSLY not better than Knives Out
I quite like Glass Onion, which I realize is BLASPHEMY to some, but I find its presentation of our glossy dystopia to be closer to the mark than most other movies made of late.
It's also bleakly funny that even in 2022 I thought it was laying it on awful thick about tech bro douches, but if anything Norton's character is way too aware of other people as a concept and is at least attempting to fake an interesting inner life.

OR clutch the things you care about close to your heart and refuse to give in to the temptation of nihilism (about motion smoothing only - everywhere else make your own calls)
Leave motion smoothing on this year. Who cares. Your parents or in-laws are upscaling a compressed HD image to 4K anyway. Also nothing matters.

Biden is most responsible for the end of the United States, but he was 100% correct when he said that nothing would fundamentally change.
"A Georgia prosecutor on Wednesday said the state is dropping criminal charges against President Donald Trump and others related to their push to overturn the 2020 election, ending the last remaining criminalcase against the president." www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

SCOOP—In August, nearly 200 current/former FEMA staffers published the Katrina Declaration, a whistleblower letter detailing all the dangers posed by current leadership.

All current employees were put on indefinite leave, and now I've learned one has been fired in violation of federal protections:
FEMA employee terminated for signing whistleblower letter
It appears to be a major violation of federal whistleblower protections and constitutional rights.

An episode Strange New Worlds is too afraid to do.
Wrote what is maybe my favorite story in a while: I wrote about the suburb of Berlin where Germans get together at Old Texas Town and pretend to live in a Wild West Texas. Now, it's going to be demolished for a data center: www.chron.com/culture/arti...
Old Town Texas is a slice of Texas in Germany. It's about to be destroyed.
Here, Germans wear Stetsons and line dance. But their little slice of Texas may soon be no more.
