Anecdotally in New Jersey we are hearing this sort of thing a lot.
One caller on NJ 101.5 FM said he was a 25 year R voter, stood in the booth intending to vote for Citarelli, and couldn't. Because SNAP loss affected him. The shutdown got him screwed up, and he said he couldn't do it. Voted Sherrill.

I think this repeated in a lot of booths.

I do love that the party of Donald Trump is stuck tut tutting over Jay Jones or Zohran or whatever. Yes, it's all very scandalous. Snort.

Not for me, of course. I love Cheney.
Probably the worst thing Trump ever did was make Cheney look good.

WSJ EDITORIAL BOARD: “.. Trump thinks he can bully everyone into submission, but he can’t bully Adam Smith, who deals in reality. Markets know tariffs are taxes, and taxes are anti-growth. The Trump tariffs are the biggest economic policy mistake in decades ..”

What Krugman said
The stock market is not the economy. The stock market is not the economy. The stock market is not the economy.

Nonetheless, holy shit.

What’s remarkable is that there’s hardly any real news driving this. It’s just investors belatedly realizing that Trump is who he is, and always was.

Trump Casino didn't fail. It went through a "period of transition" in which it is now owned by someone else. I'm guessing the same is about to happen to our country.

I, officially, no longer wish to hear about Joe Biden. Donald Trump just, willfully, provoked a stock market crash and potential recession. Joe Biden, napping on his couch, doesn't do any of this. Certainly not Kamala Harris, the actual nominee.
March 10, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Just to be clear, Kamala Harris wouldn't be doing any of this. She was the alternative. America chose wrong.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait, the US was on Kuwait's side. Bush 41 didn't encourage "negotiation" with Hussein. He didn't demand fealty from Kuwait's leaders. We are not that country anymore. We are not anywhere close.

I personally will continue to use "Gulf of Mexico" because our president is a wrathful felonious nincompoop with the intellect of paramecium and I do not consent to his cartographic buffoonery
Encyclopædia Britannica will continue to use ‘Gulf of Mexico’ for a few reasons:

-We serve an international audience, a majority of which is outside the U.S.

-The Gulf of Mexico is an international body of water, and the U.S.’s authority to rename it is ambiguous.

Bribery out in the open. It's almost refreshing.
Again, Twitter WON this case (decisively) at the district court level. The 9th Circuit made it clear that Twitter would win on appeal at oral args. And now it decided to just hand over $10 million to Trump.

It's going to be a long four years, especially if we make ourselves insane misreading budget documents.

This is a story where multiple things are true at the same time and it's a warning about how we consume information going forward
