The disastrous 2010 Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision by the Supreme Court supercharged the ‘state capture’ of the US. At this point, a bottom-up surge may be the only avenue left to change the trajectory of this ever-rapidly increasing consolidation of power by big interests.

Epic.
When I was a kid I saw a pie eating contest. All the contestants frantically dug in, food flying everywhere. It was a frenzy. Except for one guy who calmly folded his napkin, placed it in his lap, and proceeded to savor his free slice of pie. On stage. Not giving a damn.

I think about him a lot.

Did an experiment of adding greenery, rocks & splattered paint to my “River Lion” canvas for the Taste of the Tour gallery reception. Much has withered & the ferns have curled while hanging on the wall.

I was relieved to see it working and had not fallen apart! Calling it a success.

They fooled me. I wondered at first why someone had stuck twigs to their hand until reading the text. Nature rocks. What an amazing planet we live on
The buff-tip moth (Phalera bucephala) has mastered a very particular kind of camouflage.

When they close their wings up, they resemble a broken twig.

Native to large parts of Europe, there's regional pattern variation that reflects the local tree species. This one best resembles birch twigs?

This is not oasis, this is mirage.
This is not erosion, this is flood.
This is not distraction, this is fascism.

Is this sleeping, or is this a coma?

Beautiful poem about embracing the jagged edges of life to find those moments making it all worth living.
What are we shielding ourselves from when comfort becomes habit? This poem explores the quiet seduction of illusion and the raw, beautiful risk of seeing clearly. #PoemsAbout #Facades
