The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

Fear, lack of representation, and not having any legal right to marry kept me in denial and in the closet for several years.
Maybe younger people don't fucking understand what it was like to be a queer person living in a country that did not yet recognize your love as legally substantial. But I remember the fear. I remember feeling lesser for my attractions.
