@mrjamesob.bsky.social ‘chiselling, grifting bigot’ Farage in a nutshell

We now have two versions of the nasty party in Britain, and they're both competing to see who can be nastier.

Only Labour takes action to make sure your background doesn't determine what you can go on to achieve.

Only Labour will tackle child poverty.

Badenoch and Farage are in a 'cruel alliance' on child poverty, says Starmer
Legislation to officially scrap the two-child benefit limit will be introduced on Thursday

Farage says he will now vote against scrapping the two-child limit. In case it benefits “foreign-born people”.

It’s not just the racism, it’s the out-of-control personal greed, combined with the staggering meanness.

He’s a repulsively inadequate man.

On why Farage doesn’t apologise for his schoolboy racism:
“if he apologised, he would be turning to his own support base and saying, ‘You’re all guilty too.’ ”
Exactly.
He is racist. So are his voters. He can’t be pissing them off by saying sorry.

Nigel Farage used an LBC appearance in September to accuse the Bank of England of being “dinosaurs” for seeking to place restrictions on the use of Stablecoins by crypto firms like Tether.

He did not declare that Reform had just received a £9 million donation from one of its biggest investors

The Reform leader recently used media interviews to back Christopher Harborne's company while promising to cut taxes and regulations on crypto firms

There’s more coverage of Lucy Connolly’s inane, incoherent musings on the definition of racism than on Jane Goodall’s lifelong travails for humanity and the planet that sustains it.

No wonder we’re fucked.

The headline on this article should be "Paracetamol does not cause autism". Even phrasing it as a question gives it unwarranted legitimacy. Come on, take a better more active stance against misinformation.
Is Tylenol the same as paracetamol, is it safe during pregnancy and does it have links to autism?
US president’s claims around painkiller also known as Tylenol contradict scientific consensus

There’s a special place in hell for people who chose to drag out that last glass of wine in a restaurant, with all other patrons gone thus ensuring the staff have no way to get home in a tube strike.

Bless Alf Dubs. 92 years old and still arguing for the rights of refugees, 86 years after he came to the UK. Wouldn’t it be nice if our politicians could regain some humanity and Alf Dubs could retire. Not looking likely, though, is it? #r4today

Proscribing Palestine Action can’t hold.

They’re not a terrorist organisation, and nobody thinks they are.

A vast (and increasing) swathe of the population support their cause.

Policing requires consent and that requires a majority acceptance of the law, but most people think this law is an ass.

Not everything is bad.

Following the dismal spectacle of tarnished honours given out to endlessly venal mediocrities in recent years, it’s hard to think of a more suitable recipient.

Open all of the crossings. Let in lifesaving aid at scale, from all directions.

Lift restrictions on what & how much aid we can bring in. Ensure our convoys aren’t held up by delays and denials.

Release the hostages. Implement the ceasefire.

Let us work.
