Leveraging London's streets as one of its most valuable assets, Strand Aldwych transforms one of Westminster's busiest and most polluted corridors into a vibrant and verdant destination. By filtering out through traffic, 7000 m² of roadway is reclaimed into an accessible and welcoming public space.🧵

NOW: More than 98% of #Costco shareholders have just rejected an anti-DEI measure

The attempt to force Costco to audit their #DEI work was by an anti-inclusion lobby group:

The more they reveal that they only care about themselves and their super rich people.

Wonder if news editors are going to realize people knew about an actual coup an hour-plus earlier on bluesky than twitter. Hearing a lot of that rumbling from old friends still in the legacy content mines today.

A remarkable stat: Heidi Alexander’s appointment as Transport Secretary means the cabinet is now 100% state-educated for the first time in history.

As transport sec Louise Haigh
-resolved the industrial dispute on the railways
-was proceeding with rail public ownership
-spoke clearly on P&O
-gave priority to buses & opposed removal of the £2 cap
For her approach she attracted hostility from the right. It’s a backward development to lose her

Louise Haigh’s resignation will be felt in the north. She has a strong relationship with Labour’s northern mayors and has been strong on the key policies around bringing buses back into public control. I think there will be lots of frustration in combined authorities today.

What the hell kind of nonsense is this. Even under the worst possible interpretation of events, I wouldn't give two fucks what she did when she was in her twenties.

There are no physical reasons why the Northern line couldn't be extended to Clapham Junction according to a council commissioned report, but there are a lot of other reasons why it might never happen.

This summary entirely chimes with my experience reporting on media use in the UK general election. Lots of people weren’t consuming any news directly yet were still weirdly aware of a lot of the big scandals or allegations. They didn’t even know how the story had reached them, it just sort of… had.
