I live in SoCal, though I've lived all over, including England & India. Adventure is great, but deep roots & old friends are too, & I grieve those. Kids are grown, &the dog in the bio pic is long gone. To take my mind off Trump, I may need a puppy.

Good morning and Happy Friday to everyone who is glad to see, in a Congress full of Republicans cowering in fear at the idea of trump's retaliation, Senators like Chris Van Hollen can still say FUCK YOU and stand up for the rule of law and due process.

Well done, Senator.👏

Trump is so weak he can't ask a poor small country like El Salvador to return a prisoner we are paying for.
THE WORLD NOW KNOWS HOW WEAK HE REALLY IS

To be honest, given our current economic situation, I have no problem with self-indulgent rich women paying millions, while ordinary Americans struggle to feed their families, pretending to go into "space." I do question, however, the value of their return.

Every now and then it hits me that this isn’t just about 1 inhuman act or another, but a bigger picture.

That the entire democratic experiment in America is falling apart in front of our eyes. It’s historic in that sense. Which then makes me wonder why all media stories aren’t framed this way.

Jeff Bezos has enough money to send Katy Perry and Gayle King on a joyride to space for 11 minutes.

He can afford to pay his fair share in taxes.

The lies, gaslighting, threats and intimidation by this malevolent regime is breathtaking!

The only people “aiding and abetting” a criminal are those GOP members who are complicit in Trump’s malfeasance.

‘The Don’ is conducting ‘business’ like the vile mobster he is!

Pete Hegseth is *not* fired from the Pentagon for leaking top secret military information that threatened the lives of our pilots overseas. #TrumpPriorities

It's time to start trying to introduce articles of impeachment. And it should not be some fringe person doing it. It should be the whole House Democratic Caucus.

When Andrew Tate was charged with rape and human trafficking, Trump intervened to fly him back to the US.

When a working-class father of a disabled 5-year-old child was wrongfully deported and charged with NO crime, Trump refuses to lift a finger.

We need more of this—and more solidarity:

“No government—regardless of which party is in power—should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you.

The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.
