If there are any principled Republicans (is that still a thing? Asking for a friend) in Congress, they could end all this if only a couple of them would retire now. This will turn the House back to the Dems and we could start holding Trump in check.

If calling a state secret police agent a murderer for committing murder will lead to more murder by the state secret police, it sure seems like the problem is with the secret police

I don't disagree with this, and would simply add that the reason he feels he can accelerate in this way is because for what he's planning all he really needs is control of the United States Armed Forces and the money for his domestic interagency army—ICE, CBP, BOP, &c—the Big Beautiful Bill unlocked
