If your players are doing things that makes you unhappy, stressed or feeling unsafe you are well within your rights to tell them to stop. Declaring yourself a “safe” person or “ally” has the opposite affect for me. If you’re truly “safe” or an “ally” you’ll prove that by doing the work; not stating it.

Thinking about violence as a cycle is detrimental to how we think about violence struggles. It presents both sides as equal players when after a point, one side losses any ability to escape. It also presents a cycle as an inevitable human trait, when dehumanization and hate is learned.

Reminder: I see folks say “the strike ended”. SAG-AFTRA is still striking. WGA writers still need financial support for the over 100 days they were unable to work for their primary form of income. Also, numerous other industries are striking (hotel workers) and more should (animation).
