BBC "Is it the same anti-establishment populist message that propelled Trump to victory - only in the left's image".
WTF? Giving people childcare, housing and transport is EXACTLY the same as drenching neighbourhoods in teargas, lifting people off the streets, and concentration camps. No difference

Every time one of these mass murderers dies without having faced any consequence for the massacres they ordered, the lives they destroyed, the societies they razed to the ground… I realize how far we are from a world with justice. Rest in hell Dick Cheney. Your legacy is death.

I’m totally baffled by how so many English politicians can be seemingly in-awe of a mythical halcyon past that didn’t happen, while simultaneously apparently unaware of historical events that certainly did happen like English Football clubs being banned from Europe, Enoch Powell, or The Cold War.

Since October 7, 2023, Gaza’s children & families have proven to be the most vulnerable.

In this 2024 piece, sociologist and new mother @hebagowayed.bsky.social wrote about the unbearable loss of Palestinian children—and the power of parental love as resistance.

So. Let me get this straight. A couple of bands say things at Glastonbury. That's terrible. But Pulp's set is interrupted by advertising for the arms industry and we are all cool with that?

The more shocking the carnage becomes, the more people are punished for speaking out. This just makes it clear how much is really at stake, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

“The reason we face the worst is because it helps us imagine the best.” What a fantastic, hopeful read. Treat yourself to this, and then spread it around.
I wrote about the worst people in the world, charting the depths of their depravity and vastness of their incompetence, and offered some thoughts about the opportunity presented by their failure to acknowledge reality and their refusal to access any form of human virtue.

How to Read Ezra Pound

At the poets’ panel,
after an hour of poets
debating Ezra Pound,
Abe the Lincoln veteran,
remembering
the Spanish Civil War,
raised his hand and said:
If I knew
that a fascist
was a great poet,
I’d shoot him
anyway
