Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum) is on the endangered list here in Iowa, and considered rare in Illinois. Native to the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Rocky mtn regions, it’s a 3’ tall clumping perennial that doesn’t spread aggressively and is a magnet for bees & butterflies 🐝🦋🌱

Sunflowers make good companions to cucumbers and pole beans (dry or butter) by providing vine support and attracting pollinators. It’s true they emit a chemical that stunts growth of some nearby plants, so it’s best to avoid planting them next to green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and brassicas. 🌱💚🐝
