If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

The morning that Cmdr. Elizabeth Nakagawa was scheduled to have a D&C to remove fetal tissue after losing a very wanted pregnancy, she learned the surgery had been canceled because the military’s health insurance plan refused to pay for it.

During his Twitter Space with Brad Schimel, Elon Musk said potential gerrymandering reform if Schimel looses could essentially block making his DOGE cuts legislatively permanent.

In other words, a vote for Susan Crawford is a threat to DOGE’s chainsaw attacking vital services.

The Justice Department says Trump derives his authority to deport migrants without due process from “Article II and the mandate of the electorate,” so it has no obligation to provide further details of the operation to Boasberg.

“Trump won the election so everything he does is legal,” in DOJ speak.

literally every day is going to provide more evidence that the "let's provide some votes for the least bad trump nominees out of respect for the presidency" was a boneheaded strategy. any idiot could have told senate democrats that any vote for any of these people was going to make them look bad.

SCOOP --> Trump's State Department quietly terminated a contract that was in the process of transferring evidence of Russian abductions of Ukrainian kids to European law enforcement, two sources familiar with the situation tell me.

anybody who says "don't blame democrats, blame the ones who voted for cloture" gets banned, the Senate Democrats could have removed Schumer from office this morning and put someone in charge who promised to remove any Democrat who votes for cloture from their committee leadership

they didn't do it

drafting is like recruiting: it should always be the bedrock of what you do.

but if you're the Dallas Cowboys or the Clemson Tigers, ignoring free agency altogether is putting an unnecessary ceiling on your roster.

And the Trump team isn’t relying on “material support” — which is a crime, 18 USC 2339B.

Rather, they seem to rely on immigration law provisions that apply only to noncitizens. We don’t yet know which provision or the alleged facts, and there are constitutional concerns with those provisions.
Also must point out that they’re simply inventing (& hoping you won’t notice) that Khalil or any other protester was “provid[ing] material support” to any banned foreign group. Material support is a tangible thing. ADL has been making this slanderous accusation w/o any evidence since protests began

Democrats that vote for this should be treated no differently than MAGA Republicans. And we need to make it a priority to get them out of office.
Senate Democrats just emerged stone faced en masse from a very long lunch meeting and refused to tell reporters where they were on the CR. At least a dozen members just stared straight ahead and marched out past us, inc many normally press friendly ones.
