OF Ichiro Suzuki has been elected to the @baseballhall.org. In 19 MLB seasons, he produced a .311 average and 3,089 hits. He was named the 2001 AL Rookie of the Year & AL MVP, tallied 10 Gold Gloves, 10 All-Star selections, and the single-season record for base hits with 262 in 2004.

There are very few baseball players who were truly 1 of 1. Babe, Jackie, Satchel, Willie. Very few. Rickey has not been replaced and will never be replaced.

Just finished writing a Rickey Henderson column and, I mean, I knew he was incredible - all-time leader in runs, SB, leadoff HR, 2nd in BB, 4th in times on base - but what jumped out was that in 25 years in #MLB he only made 15 starts batting outside the leadoff spot. That’s ridiculous. Astonishing.
