I mostly avoid those "unwrapped" end of year things, but I do like looking over my GoodReads Year in Books. Going over these, this feels like a good year: www.goodreads.com/user/year_in...

I reject that "biological male" is a useful or accurate term to describe me, a trans woman, most of the time. I have a bunch of biological traits typical of both cis women (hormone profile and from that breasts and fat distribution) and cis men (deeper voice, prostate) or neither (lack of gonads).

Played new game Forbidden Jungle at #GamesNight tonight, which was a lot of fun. It was well-balanced and felt pleasantly like a Forbidden game while also feeling fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Scotland must always remain a welcoming country for migrants and refugees.

It's not illegal to seek asylum and refuge here, no matter the circumstances.

My Christmas party last night was a lot of fun, thanks too everyone who came. It was really nice to see folk I've not seen in too long. And I'm glad the home baking went down well 🍪🧁.
Lovely to see friends last night at @lordofthemoon.com's Christmas party. Really nice brownies too!

This is why the SNP will definitely be on my shortlist for the upcoming elections, and why Labour won't.

So it's not just me, there are fewer Scottish banknotes about! www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottis...

What is this nonsense, can we have proper notes again, please?

A *huge* vaccine victory. I've been writing on this for years; Australia has seen remarkable progress in cervical cancer prevention with the HPV vaccine. I love seeing science triumph like this.
Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
