MEANWHILE IN CALIFORNIA

( and god I do love the number of of folks who basically just in their phone . Because they can do this all day)
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

This 👇👇 the shows this year were some of the worst I’ve done, when we all need more support than ever.
Incidentally this is why it's so devastating when a convention fucks up dealer table placement / layout, doesn't advertise or promote the existence or whereabouts of the attending indie creators, etc.

We're on shoestring budgets, and failing to break even can ruin us.
So many of us can only afford to do conventions because we know someone nearby who will let us crash on their couch, or we're banding together to break up the cost of a rental apartment / hotel room.

I've never worked so hard in my life to stand absolutely still.

Reminded that I’ve been meaning to mute Rand and her titles. Her work needs to return to the dust from whence it came. We have grappled with it, argued it in good and bad faith, wrestled with its straw men offspring for decades. Enough is enough.
“Mamdani is bad because if you read Atlas Shrugged—“

“Shut the fuck up.”

Or block. Or mute. Don’t engage.

This Indigenous Peoples Day please speak up: another typhoon sweeping away homes of Alaska's Natives, who, during settlement (statehood: 1948) were forced to end ways of life (like my Grandma's) involving mobility across regions & stuck them in flood-prone/unstable villages with housing deficits.

An Ess-A-Bagel straight from the oven is one of the top 3 things I miss about NYC.
In my defense, I used to get a still-hot-from oven Ess-A-Bagel & tear it with my hands & eat it plain. This specific instance of unadorned bagel is sublime.

One thing I'll say about DC not only canceling Red Hood, but recalling the first issue and refunding stores for buying it, is that you can still get Neil Gaiman's work through them. They still work with Otto Schmidt. Eddie Berganza worked there for years AFTER the formation of a policy that no women
