this is more than just marching in full regalia to Broadview and praying outside of it

this is very deftly trapping ICE into the position of having to literally - LITERALLY, to them - turn Christ away from the door

any Catholic ICE officer was probably shook, I’m really not exaggerating

found exactly the one use of “evil recoils in the presence of Christ” I am willing to sign off on, HOOOOOOOOLY SHIT

Father Larry did not come here to fuck around

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

Today is National Coming Out Day!

It's also Freedom to Read Day, aka the last day of Banned Books Week.

This feels right — because the main reason they try to ban books is to keep people from dreaming they could ever come out.

They Want To Ban Books To Keep Us From Coming Out
Quick housekeeping! I’m doing a flurry of events once again: Tuesday I’ll be in the Koret Auditorium at the SF Public Library talking about banned books for...

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Wow, this is fascinating - thank you for explaining the ritual, & its significance as an act of protest. I’d never even heard of it before.

In the Baltimore Sun today we ask Governor Wes Moore to cancel Avelo Airlines' contract with BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. He can do it today. It doesn't require the assembly. It will help stop ICE & help our patients and neighbors.

Please share widely.

How Wes Moore can deal a blow to Trump’s immigration agenda | GUEST COMMENTARY
Guest commentary: Gov. Wes Moore has a novel opportunity to undermine Trump’s immigration agenda by targeting an airline participating in ICE’s deportations.

An Ess-A-Bagel straight from the oven is one of the top 3 things I miss about NYC.

In my defense, I used to get a still-hot-from oven Ess-A-Bagel & tear it with my hands & eat it plain. This specific instance of unadorned bagel is sublime.

it’s said all the time but I think we should continue to hammer home how insane it is that we got dead-eyed bros trying to sell us robots that will free us from the supposedly cruel burden of “creative careers” instead of the actual cruel burden of “doing menial household chores”

Those puppets could make a march feel like a place kids belonged.

Which is a really beautiful thing at low risk protest. The presence of children sends a very clear message about how your protest encompasses and speaks to hope for the future, and their future.
