The only thing cis kids get from their trans friends being segregated away from them is the impression that there's something wrong with trans kids, that they need to be protected from them. It teaches them bigotry, a horrible thing that is not innate, that is passed on by hate-poisoned adults.

I know my war on public toilet is silly and in hindsight and kind of doesn't adreess the real issue with gendered bathroom but so much of this debate feels so i distiguishable from the "Think of the children" while simultaneously doing everything except for the safety of those children
