I remember reading something a while back in a post from a smart woman who usually has a great perspective on life. You see, she is someone who is all about living life fully, serving others, and making the most of the time you have with those you love. She creates magical memories for her kids, her friends, and her family.

I did not write the article below. Tracy Michelle, a journalist whose work has appeared in articles and photojournalism work from UPI, The Salem Observer, New York Post, AP, New Hampshire Union Leader, WBBH-TV in Florida. While I don't know her personally or even from her previous work, this article sent chills through me. I don't need to know anything else about her to know that what she is saying is true.

(A COMMON MISQUOTE FROM THE BEATITUDES.) BUT THE TRUTH IS THEIR LIVES HERE ARE VERY HARD The poor are under attack in the United States of America. Many groups are under attack, but the common denominator is often economic status.  Much is being done to assure that these people will stay where they are or, in fact, lose assets and aid.

I have written extensively through this blog about myself. I’ve written of the struggles of dealing with depression. I’ve written about faith. I’ve written about my dread of the future in today’s political climate. I’ve railed about what I see as a dirth of moral character and an abundance of cruelty in our so-called leaders that somehow the American public actually elected.

ICE stripped a German green card holder naked, drove him from Boston to Vermont to Rhode Island, put him in a cold shower, deprived him of medication, sleep and food until he collapsed.

No one knows why he was detained.

Fabian Schmidt’s family said they are unsure of why he is being held. They said he has a recently renewed green card, and no active issues in court.

I’ve been pondering an idea quite a bit recently, and last night as I watched a video where I heard the late Tony Campolo address the very thing I’ve been contemplating. In a sermon (and from what I’ve gathered at many other times) Tony stated: “I have three things I’d like to say today. First, while you were sleeping last night, 30,000 kids died of starvation or diseases related to malnutrition.

Trump's Social Security Administration commissioner just called for a 50% staff reduction.

This would gut SSA field offices and make it harder for millions of seniors to access benefits.

Make no mistake: this is an attack on Social Security itself.

I have a blog where I ponder things, sort out my thoughts and emotions, and express myself better than I could by speaking. Trying to make sense of the church and what is happening right now, I wrote today after a long time of not writing.

Trump is shutting down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency that has returned nearly $20 billion to consumers since it was created in 2011. The CFPB helps businesses who play by the rules not be disadvantaged by businesses who cheat. Shutting it down will only hurt American consumers.

This is a dangerous move by the Administration that will hurt consumers for the benefit of special interests.

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

It's impossible to please everyone. The question is whether you're disappointing the right people.
