I've been apostate for two decades and I have a better handle on the tenets of the Catholic faith than this cosplayer.
Vice President JD Vance’s comments justifying the death of Renee Good are a moral stain on the collective witness of our Catholic faith.

His Catholicism seems to be little more than a political prop, a tool only for his career ambitions and desire for power.

My latest for NCR.
Catholic Vice President Vance takes to social media to justify killing of Renee Good
After the tragic shooting of Renee Good at the hands of ICE, the Catholic vice president of the United States took to social media to justify the killing.

Young Kevin Millson and young Mab shared unfortunate morbid interests.
Goodnight from young Kevin Millson, unable to face sleep after reading a heavily-illustrated book on spontaneous human combustion. Goodnight from Meon Hill, dreaming of opening its occulted green gates to allow all of its hollow wonders to spill out. Goodnight from Hookland.

This is coming from a place of love and support, but…

It’s ‘shoo-in,’ not ‘shoe-in.’

It’s ‘case in point,’ not ‘case and point.’

It’s ‘moot point,’ not ‘mute point.’

It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’

It’s ‘jibe with,' not 'jive with.'

Seventy years ago, Jonas Salk and his team worked in a lab between a morgue and a darkroom to develop the world’s first successful polio vaccine.

A filmmaker who made a documentary on Salk’s work explains why forgetting life before vaccines has real consequences: buff.ly/VYpqOy4

The world risks forgetting one of humanity’s greatest triumphs as polio nears global eradication − 70 years after Jonas Salk developed the vaccine in a Pittsburgh lab
Polio may finally be defeated in the next 5 years. Will the world recognize what an extraordinary achievement that is?

Happy birthday JRR Tolkien! On this day, January 3 of 1892, the author of The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit was born!

I am so thankful for his lifelong devotion to storytelling and world-building, and I am inspired everyday to pursue beauty, goodness, and truth because of him.

reblogging for reference
Building on Blake's post, if there's one book I recommend everyone read about the eruption, it's Richard Waitt's work. IMHO, this is *the* book.

Also, if you're an audiobooker (my people), you can also find it on Audible.

I still have my copy of Red As Blood with this cover.
RED AS BLOOD (1982)
Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 30" x 22"

I have fond memories of the cover art for Tanith Lee's novel RED AS BLOOD simply because the act of creation was so enjoyable. I still regret selling the painting. 1/3
