Inspired by this 1970 photo of an old poolhall once located on 150th Street and Amsterdam Ave, I wrote a short story called "Last Pocket." Yesterday I learned that the story was accepted for publication in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. As the premier crime fiction publication, it's so exciting.

I dig that photo. I saw this movie when I was in my early 20s (in a theater) and hated it. Twenty years later I watched it again and loved it.
