Was at the drugstore and noticed they make Tylenol PM now.

I hear it’s popular, but I don’t understand why anyone would buy this.

I want my headache fixed NOW, not in 3 quarters when it can get me on the roadmap.

RAWR!!! Happy Halloween! My unintentionally most frightening bird photo of all time remains this grey-crowned crane, at the International Crane Foundation in Wisconsin in 2012. I was thankful for the fence. #birds

I feel like stuff like this is too often overlooked in discussions around technology-based mitigations of climate change. If we use tech innovations to make it easy and convenient for people to use the “greener” alternative that already exists, they’ll use it.

Well that's a ridiculously impressive side project: https://blog.wilsonl.in/search-engine/

Also the first thing in a long time that has LLMs in it and makes me go "huh this is neat, I kind of want to use that".

End-to-end deep dive of the project, spanning a large GPU cluster, distributed RocksDB, and terabytes of sharded HNSW.

One of my early young journalist memories was getting to interview him and Ron Howard on a red carpet in Austin for a screening of Apollo 13. I bragged about it for a while! (I'm the mop of brown curly hair)

The thing most people look for in leadership are absolute rules that they can apply “do this, not that” style.

The truth is, leadership is thinking in systems. Org health and productivity are related. Org change isn’t just moving TO something, it’s FROM-TO, and so on.

Consider the whole system.

Wow: after 15 years, YouTube has taken down the original 'Rick Roll' video due to a "licensing issue," likely due to the acquisition of Astley's record lable.

The metadata remains, but if you click through it goes to 'video not found':

One thing that really bugs me about VCs and others projects claiming how AI will mean many devs redundant because smaller teams can do more with less: is ignoring the last.

Some of the most impactful / successful software was built by tiny teams in the 80s, 90s, 2000s. Like:

right, so, as i am assuming most canadians won’t be vacationing in the states anytime soon, may i instead suggest this thread of pretty manitoba parks and landmarks for your sightseeing consideration? 😇
Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park: in the Interlake region, we go there once or twice a year when we can. In the summer to camp and go for little hikes, and in the winter to stay at the resort and go snowshoeing/x-country skiing/hot tubbing. Beautiful little area. Love it.
