We've been waiting for the FDA to approve ensitrelvir (Xocova) since at least 2023. I don't know what the current FDA is going to do with it.
The antiviral ensitrelvir, already approved in Japan for COVID treatment, significantly reduces infection risk in households. Uninfected people who took it within 72 hours of a family member's symptoms were much less likely to catch COVID
