Phantasmagoria (1995) was designed by Roberta Williams, who is not only a pioneer in video gaming but also a pioneer in video game dog petting; her work includes the some of the earliest graphical depictions of petting interactions, like King's Quest III (1986) and The Colonel's Bequest (1989).
