🍽️ 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 - 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬. 🥘

Tonight I joined volunteers of Open Kitchen to say a big thank you to them for 2,000 consecutive days of providing food for those most in need in south Manchester.

I also presented a Certificate of Appreciation from the House of Commons.

Great to see the Government moving ahead with plans to modernise licensing rules for pubs and clubs. These much-loved venues are at the heart of our communities.

This is just the start, as we work to unlock London’s nightlife and build a better city for everyone.
UK government plans to boost economy by loosening nightlife laws
In light of stagnated UK economic growth, the Labour government has announced a new plan to allow restaurants, pubs, and night clubs to stay open later. The UK

I’m pleased that sites in Enfield and Greenwich have been put forward as part of the government’s New Towns program.

This is another step forward in solving London’s acute housing supply crisis.

MPs should be pushing for this in their constituencies.

Local authorities should be onto all this, with their towns and cities.....doing similar. The time to work much harder to revive these areas is NOW.

We are only effective when we are united, I'm grateful we had two candidates who believe passionately in a united, progressive party of power. Whatever the outcome, this is a huge opportunity to build a new chapter for social justice across our country. Bring it on! ❤️🌹

Absolutely. I'd like to see the many Labour MPs here on Bluesky encouraging other Labour MPs to come onto the platform. The majority are here on Bluesky now, but there are stull some who are only on X.

I agree with you @sarahowen.org.uk My opinion is that both candidates are great. I'm proud of them. The government get a lot right. You can't fix in a few months what went wrong the previous fourteen years. Some adjustments are required though, and the opportunity to support them now can be taken.

@lucympowell.bsky.social .....great campaign, I must say. Great to see you here on Bluesky.

Exactly @danaldridgemp.bsky.social I also support @lucympowell.bsky.social In truth I'm proud of both candidates. Unity afterwards, working together with a sense of realism....fourteen years of previous mismanagement to unravel. This will take time to be reversed.

Lovely to visit Asda at Monks Cross to chat with the team about the amazing Tickled Pink campaign.

For nearly 30 years, Tickled Pink has helped raise awareness and funds for breast cancer charities, supporting life-saving research and early detection.👏
Luke and the team stood infront of a delivery van. Luke holding a Yorkshire Tea tickled pink box smiling.

I’m pleased that support is being rolled out to students studying technical qualifications - as well as students on traditional degree courses. This is a great way to make sure that we have a workforce fit for the future. Read my column

I met Dr Alex Blower to discuss Boys’ Impact, which brings educators together to tackle the gap in GCSE results for boys from working-class backgrounds and understand when, how, and why too many of them drop out of education.

No one should serve in the Houses of Parliament because of the family they were born into. It’s time for Hereditary Peers to go.

Despite the best efforts of the opposition, we voted again to remove Hereditary Peers from the House of Lords.
