This agency is out of control if leadership is no longer checking violations of constitutional rights. Congress absolutely must step in before more people are kidnapped/killed.

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Don’t let the professionally dishonest & the intentionally disingenuous frame an issue as a binary choice of either getting run over or shooting a person. There is literally a universe of options between those two extremes. Stop listening to dolts or liars. Options, create them, and use them…

This is so real, they tried it this morning in Bloomington. They stopped a man, people started honking horns, they split up to fuck with everyone else, which brought more attention and more noise, people got out of their cars and started filming, they left. They're cowards.
obviously not in the sense that it’s stopping everything, but they are being stalled so much by trying to find places where they aren’t watched, wasting so much manpower and resources on crowd control and even arresting observers they know will just get released. i am so proud of everyone

In Minneapolis this afternoon—

Hundreds are streaming across the snow and ice into Powderhorn Park for a rally and march demanding ICE leave Minnesota.

It is bitterly cold. There are hardcore Midwesterners out here making their way in with trekking poles.

My one time simulator training at FBI Citizens Academy was exactly as described here. Anticipating danger is incredibly difficult but for it to be reasonable there must be objective signs. Worth the read.
I wrote up my analysis of what Ross's movements and actions reveal about whether or not he had a "reasonable belief that he was in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury" (the legal standard). I list 7 crucial moments that suggest he did not. asharangappa.substack.com/p/friday-rou...

This guy is in Minneapolis standing before an American citizen in an SUV.

The only reason he's brandishing an assault rifle is because he wants the people he's purportedly there protecting to feel terrorized by his presence.

This is not protection. This is occupation.

DHS was created to FIGHT terrorists, not to BE terrorists. It needs to be defunded by congress in 2027, and we should select candidates who run on that platform.

Vance and MAGA decided to push all their chips into the middle of the table and put a big bet down on the actions of ICE agent Jonathan Ross, thinking that the public was going to side with him that Renee Good put his life in danger and he merely acted in self-defense. Dumb move.

The transformation of ICE into a type of national police force, backed, in some cases, by soldiers from the National Guard, has been covered as immigration story—but these forces are reshaping democracy for all of us.

What I told new colleagues last month. Reject the notion that cops don’t have time to think. Do not fall for that crap. That’s an excuse for repeat garbage behaviors. Make time to think. Slow down. Plan. React smartly. Determine WHAT IS THE POINT. Communicate. Or find a new job.
I told them to reject the notion cops don’t have time to think, that they simply must act. I say ‘if I tell you I’m gonna punch you in 90 seconds, you could go make a sandwich & still have time to figure out what to do.’ Well, you’ve got 90 seconds as you’re driving to the call..so use it wisely

To the notion of compliance: too many people saying ‘if she only complied’ as justification. Failure to comply doesn’t interfere with police work. Failure to comply IS police work. Otherwise just put signs up. It’s people not complying that we must handle smartly. With thought
