Just stuff that interests me, mainly NFL (the mighty Colts!), speedway plus classic film & telly (according to me); and a tiny sliver of politics.

NEWS: The Colts and Philip Rivers have agreed to a contract after he worked out Monday night, per source. The 44-year-old is back on the Indy practice squad, five seasons after his last NFL action.

What a brutal turn of events for the Colts. Trade for Gardner because Jones is playing fantastic football, now they're both hurt. And now not sure what you do with Jones as a pending free agent this offseason coming off the Achilles.

Jones is now ruled out with an Achilles injury. He knew it immediately. He now has a broken leg and (presumably) a torn Achilles. Worst imaginable luck and devastating to the Colts season and medium-term timeline
This is really not good for Daniel Jones. Looks like he knows he's done-done. Grabbed his knee, then calf/Achilles

Saw The Unthanks in Worcester tonight. Small intimate venue that seemed to me to suit the subtly understated nature of these talented musicians’ song’s & performance. I particularly enjoyed their interpretation of ‘Shipbuilding’ & one about a pigeon who is in Derby Museum!

The Colts are not expected to place Sauce Gardner on Injured Reserve, per me and @tompelissero.bsky.social. A sign he can return within the four week window.
Colts star CB Sauce Gardner, who suffered a calf strain in Sunday’s loss, is considered week-to-week with the hope he’s back during the regular season, sources tell me and @tompelissero.bsky.social after the MRI.

Not long-term. But he’ll miss some time.

Private Eye has been reporting on this for ages but a succession of idiots in suits - military and government - have either denied there are problems or that they have been solved. Putin must be shaking in his boots.

Colts do abgreat job of keeping the Chiefs at bay, so much that they trail for the whole of the match. 11 pts down in the last qtr the Chief make a comeback, and then win it in OT.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Exactly right. Mistakes must be corrected, but deliberate campaigns should be recognised for what they are.
