Lovely rustic wooden #Bench with a view of the M4 Severn Bridge on @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route Caldicot to Chepstow.

Topical mucky river pictures of the #RiverWye in Chepstow. The Wye is currently one of the focuses of the UK's biggest environmental lawsuit so far.
View from the old bridge in Chepstow. The tide is out and the river and its banks look very muddy. Houses are on the hill above limestone cliffs, on the English side. For #FingerpostFriday special one-off #ToepostFriday
Post with two directions for the Wales Coast Path at the top, and a traditional finger which has slid down to the bottom of the post, pointing to Goldcliff.

Nice bike rack in Leeds showing how many spaces a car takes up. These are actually on the road so bikes don't block the pavement, and the car outline stops passing cars clipping parked cycles. Nice design.
A rack for locking bikes formed from the usual metal hoops but connected with a cartoonish outline shape of a car in yellow. On a cobbled street with brick building behind.

These two are 74 and 65 years old, and they're both in line for a repaint! #FingerpostFriday

A couple of ancient #FingerpostFriday 's from the #WestHighlandWay @slowwaysuk.bsky.social trip.
Public Footpath to Loch Etive via Glen Kinglass. Appears to point through a laurel hedge but there was actually a track just beyond the corner. Public Footpath to Fort William by the Lairig. Also a bright magenta notice is hanging on the pole warning of fire risk.

I can see Cassiopeia which is in line with the main arch of the Milky Way, so you were pointing in the right direction!

Some views of the gobsmackingly awesome #Glencoe from the excellent Citylink 914/915 #bus service. Must be one of the most beautiful bus services in Britain! @bettertransport.bsky.social . You're advised to book in advance though! @everylaststation.bsky.social

Some views from my @slowwaysuk.bsky.social #WestHighlandWay walk with @stuartmilligan.bsky.social from Bridge of Orchy to Kingshouse.
Looking along the side of the Actual Bridge of Orchy on the right with three walkers on it, and on the left is the river it crosses. View along the river from the Actual Bridge of Orchy. Moody view across Rannoch Moor. Autumnal grasses and heathers, with lochans and mountains in the distance. Even moodier view across Rannoch Moor, mostly fairly dark, but a patch of moorland and hillsides in the distance are lit by the sun.

Our accommodation for the first night of our #WestHighlandWay @slowwaysuk.bsky.social trip was Bridge of Orchy Station, which houses a delightful hostel. @stuartmilligan.bsky.social
View along the platform with part of the station hostel included. View along the platform with the train information showing. View along the platform with part of the station hostel included. A train is approaching, and a man sits on a bench checking his phone. View from the platform and from the station hostel of a train which has arrived.

Walking the #WestHighlandWay using @slowwaysuk.bsky.social. This is the Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy section.
View along the footpath with a pebbly river on the left and mountain (a Munro) ahead. Blue sky with Simpsons Clouds. Lovely scenery. View straight along the footpath with a Munro mountain ahead, covered with little rivulets running straight down its side.

A misty start to last week's @slowwaysuk.bsky.social adventure on the #WestHighlandWay. The view from the train near Penrith.

"Most violence happens in the home, not on the streets. [We had] a strategy to address it around four pillars: prevention, engagement, the victim’s journey, and rehabilitation.

That serious, practical work has now been pushed aside in favour of fearmongering and scapegoating." goodlaw.social/hudg
In Kent, Reform’s talk of protecting women is a dangerous illusion | Good Law Project

Some #Railway paraphernalia along the former railway line path from Long Marston into Stratford upon Avon, on part of @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route from Honeybourne.
A bench made from old railway sleepers. An old railway carriage has been turned into a café. This is the view from my table looking along the inside of the carriage, including the remains of my coffee and cake. A fingerpost including a sign saying Chamber Crossing Halt within the classic double lozenge shape. A view along the viaduct over the River Avon. Half the bridge (lengthwise) is surfaced for the cycle track, and the river can be seen through the uncovered supports of the other half.

#GhostSign in #StratfordUponAvon. I think it says "Crosses made to order", but don't panic if that sounds gruesome, it's within a row of jewellers.

Following last week’s #WaterfallWednesday, Brian’s sent another gem – Hull Pot full to the brim in January 2023!

After heavy rain, Hull Pot Beck spills in, creating a spectacular waterfall. Occasionally, it even fills completely! 🌧️

An unusual gate near Honeybourne from my recent @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walks in the #Cotswolds.
Large gate made of aluminium tubing with a small gate set within it. A vertical bolt holds the mini gate closed. Mini gate swung partly open within the still closed main gate. Mini gate wide open and ready to step through.

A well calibrated #Sundial in Moreton in Marsh in the #Cotswolds. Modern clock shows just gone 11am. Sundial shows just gone 10am, but it's daylight saving time BST so all correct 😃

Wash, rinse, blow-dry. This very mixed weather makes the @bsky.app look so bright and clean! From @slowwaysuk.bsky.social near Penrith a couple of weeks ago.

Green grass, isolated oak tree in a field, big fluffy white clouds behind it, and blue, blue sky. Looking up through the skeletal branches of a dead tree to a large patch of blue, blue sky between white clouds.
