The alpha identity that a lot of adult men try to construct around themselves is based on a study with a bunch of undersocialized, stressed and scared animals in an enclosure. Maybe there is this “male loneliness epidemic” because men are cosplaying as aggressive captive animals.

There are no supreme leaders in healthy wolf packs, just families working towards shared goals. And dominance is far more complex than “this animal beat this one in a fight.”

The “understanding” of alpha/beta dynamics are very warped to begin with, because of poorly constructed experiments and observations that have since been debunked. However, a lot of people love the idea of hierarchy established through blood rather than by bond, so it’s an ideal that is clung onto.

A thing that always stands out to me when men obsess over “alphas” is the idolization of violence over cooperation or play. Animals like wolves are only successful because they work together, sharing responsibility and establishing bonds with their packmates. The idea of the alpha ignores that.

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"
China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

But it is worth remembering that when people hear AIPAC, they think "Jews," even if that association is rooted in a misunderstanding of the org.

AIPAC sucks, supports genocide, and is a hub for Christian Zionists as much as anyone. *And* at the same time:
When you vaguepost like this about issues unrelated to Israel suggesting an org associated with Judaism is to blame, you are at least FLIRTING with antisemitic conspiracy theory.
