You cannot technically explain yourself out of UX issues, please stop trying.

So often I see users bring up UX issues, and programmers then tell them how much work it was to create their product.

It doesn't matter how much work it was!! What matters is if your target audience uses it or not.

You can't click out of it. If you log in again, it just pops up again and blocks your emails.

I'm still profoundly irritated with Google's Gmail shenanigans. One of the first principles of good UI/UX design is that you want your interface to be so unobtrusive that users don't have to think about it. If you bury functionality >3 clicks deep, people won't use it.

I do not want to create an account for a one-time purchase. Yes, I want a bag. Yes, I want a receipt, printed out, not emailed or texted. No, I will not download your app for future weak discounts.

I'm a 20 year #ux veteran and I have never seen a such a dark UX pattern as we are seeing today in #gmail. Removing product features when users opt out of privacy infringing #ai is punishment, not enhancement. It says everything about the disdain #google has for it's users. #DeGoogle your life.

I love the way if you turn off AI in Gmail, it removes your tabs along the top and dumps everything into the main inbox instead, even though those predated AI by years.

Talk about spiteful little fucks.
