Anyway the single best check on your espoused prescriptions for social change is whether you yourself are doing what you say others need to do. It's extremely clarifying and usually very humbling.

It’s day 25 of the ICE occupation of the Twin Cities.

The surge continues. Neighbors were kidnapped today outside grocery stores and going about their regular errands.

We continue to see heavy ICE activity throughout the metro area. Stay alert - we know many kidnappings happen very fast.

ICE agent recognized out Christmas shopping—throws tantrum when citizens profile him.

"We're trying to prevent you from kidnapping our neighbors," they say.

"I'm not doing anything but walking, leave me alone!" he yells.

"Not right now you're not—but the past 5 days you have."

As a professional *human* audiobook narrator, this is a huge help.

The more we can push back against the use of AI becoming "inevitable", because it is no such thing, the better off every single person and the planet will be.

ICE Threw Thousands of Kids in Detention, Many For Longer Than Court-Prescribed Limit
Former immigration staffers argue ICE is choosing to detain families for prolonged periods to speed deportations and compel them to leave.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

For the second year in a row, the wealth gains for the 100 richest Americans exceeded what ALL American households spent on groceries combined.

~$995B for billionaires vs ~$775B in total grocery spending.

We have an oligarchy and inequality problem masquerading as an affordability crisis.

Everyone benefits from the work criminal defense attorneys do. Our society is better when the State is forced to respect the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments. Because we're all one bad cop away from being charged with a crime. Today it's them in cuffs, tomorrow it could be you.

I sincerely hope anyone who doubts the importance of a criminal defense for ALL people doesn't get rung up on federal charges for breathing too hard near an ICE agent. The same people who would've decried an assault on an LEO a few years ago might find themselves more thankful for a robust defense

My daughter’s school bus was delayed this morning because armed ICE agents, some masked, were in the middle of 15th Ave in Cedar Riverside. So why wouldn’t ICE just get out of the way when the bus came? Perhaps they were busy harassing Somali-Americans, who are overwhelmingly citizens. But... (1/4)

A major problem in the country is that for years, regular people have actually been made to feel and have sometimes been told to leave "THE LAW" to the "professionals I.e. THE LAWYERS" and that was always ridiculous for multiple reasons. But it succeeded in distancing regular people from organizing.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

(1/4) ICE detention has become a black box. Oversight has been gutted. Families are being separated. Pregnant and postpartum women report starving in custody, freezing cells, invasive procedures, miscarriages, and their pleas for help going unanswered.
