Happy #caturday! One of my favorites of our orange boy, Dr. Leo Marvin
A closeup of an orange cat. He's yawning, his tongue is curled. The sun is peeking through the trees behind him. Photo by me.

Remember when he started calling everything that he heard but didn't like "fake news" and it worked with his base?

How much longer until he starts calling everything he sees but doesn't like "AI slop"?

A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.

All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.

So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!

This ought to be a huge story everywhere. It is imperative that we not normalize sending troops into blue cities on false pretenses. The consequences could be tragic. Journalists must rebut the lies and quote the outraged at the top of their articles and segments. www.cnn.com/2025/09/27/p...

This is precisely the kind of government coercion that the First Amendment was designed to prevent — and media companies need to start standing up rather than capitulating to it.

A bit ago, I was in a gas station market w/ my wife, when I saw one of the local right-wing, nut job podcasters in line behind us.

We finished our purchase, the clerk told us to have a nice day, and I replied, loudly, "thanks! We are late for the Antifa meeting but it should be a good one!"

Maga is fundamentally a populist white racism.
The slogan "Make America Great Again" is more accurately described as "Make White
America Greater." The fact that the tariff policy insisted on a 50% tariff only on steel and aluminum stems from the concentration of these groups in the Rust Belt. The massive crackdown on illegal immigrants at the Hyundai-LG Energy Solutions joint venture plant in Georgia must be understood in this context. The scenes of our workers being chained and escorted away were reminiscent of the dragging of African slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries. The
Department of Homeland Security boasted of
"the largest single-site raid in history," and Immigration and Customs Enforcement even brazenly released footage of the raid, which was highly violating human rights, as if to boast of their "achievement." Far-right whites may have secretly rejoiced.
Even politicians like the Georgia governor and local lawmakers, who had been active in attracting factories, have shifted their stance and sympathized with their grievances. This is likely because it's difficult to ignore the anti-immigrant sentiment of native Americans. Like the McCarthyism that swept through American society in the 1950s, irrational madness dominates American society. The recent visa issue, which could have been resolved diplomatically with advance notice from an ally, is difficult to explain beyond political maneuvering. The fact that they mobilized helicopters and armored vehicles for show, as if they had been caught, is difficult to explain.

Based on some of the discourse I’ve seen tonight, some of y’all would’ve felt empathy when Robert E. Lee died too.

Some of you might’ve even applauded when slaveowners got reparations.

Because racism isn’t real for you, you can push aside my humanity to empathize with those who want us dead.

I have not logged in to Twitter for a very long time, but I did to see if this is a real tweet by the Department of Energy, and it is.

Just... wow. On the surface it appears to be posted by morons (which also may be the case) but I suspect this has more to do with oil money than stupidity.

The Onion will be available in almost every Barnes & Noble in the country starting this month! “RFK Jr. Fires Piss Czar” will be a visible headline sitting directly next to Bon Appetit and Guns & Ammo.
Do you think we will see The Onion on grocery store newspaper racks in the future or is it just not sustainable anymore to do that?

It's been a rough year for the conspiracy theorists who supported Trump. Nothing on Epstein. Nothing of note on the JFK assassination. An actual rollback of transparency on UAPs/UFOs. These folks are realizing they're stuck with conspiracy blue balls, and they are not happy about it.

My statement on Donald Trump's threat to deport me and his praise for Eric Adams, who the President "helped out" of legal accountability.
The President of the United States just threatened to have me arrested, stripped of my citizenship, put in a detention camp and deported. Not because I have broken any law but because I will refuse to let ICE terrorize our city.

His statements don’t just represent an attack on our democracy but an attempt to send a message to every New Yorker who refuses to hide in the shadows: if you speak up, they will come for you. We will not accept this intimidation.

That Trump included praise for Eric Adams in his authoritarian threats is unsurprising, but highlights the urgency of bringing an end to this Mayor’s time in City Hall. At the very moment when MAGA Republicans are attempting to destroy the social safety net, kick millions of New Yorkers off of healthcare and enrich their billionaire donors at the expense of working families, it is a scandal that Eric Adams echoes this President’s division, distraction and hate.

Voters will resoundingly reject it in November.

Instead of being in settings its in the google app. Also, google, not chrome. Icon is a G, not the circle thing. Click on your pfp to open a menu

From there, go Settings > Gemini > Digital Assistants > Switch to Google Assistant. This disables Gemini, google's Al assistant, and switches you back to the old one. We aren't done yet.

Go back to Settings. From there, we go Settings > Google Assistant > scroll to find General > Google Assitant on/off > turn it off

They really tried their best to make it a pain, but you can eventually disable it. Holding the power button on your phone still pulls up a menu and asks you to turn it back on, but this is the least intrusive you can make it.

Applies to all non-apple phones afaik. For sure Samsungs and Pixels but idrk about others

Edit: thank you my friend @/teeth-kid for confirming that this also works on Motorola
