Happy Opening Day!

Thing about me in 2025 social media: I don't actively post much and there are various reasons for that, but I'm often a lurker on here and that means I'd see notifications. Always feel free to tell me I'm wrong about something, that I suck, ask a question or tell me I'm amazing.
yes, the NBA famously never has repeat champs or runs of championships from one team
The purpose of a cap is to level the playing field. The NBA is your example. Lots of different winners, and lots of different Finals teams.

so, yeah, it wasn't done yet, but this happens sometimes

We live in a tumultuous world. But I take solace in the fact that the 2010 University of Alaska Fairbanks hockey intro video remains the most unhinged thing I’ve ever seen.

And once again you can only shake your head and wonder how a group of people came together and decided it was a good idea to trade a player and person like this.
Mookie Betts was named winner of the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award "for his many extraordinary efforts including supporting young people in a variety of ways and helping victims of the Los Angeles fires."

The award is based on character, community involvement and philanthropy.

Forty years ago MLB teams opened their books to an independent economist and were proven to be lying liars who lied.

Until they open their books that way again, let that be your default assumption about any claims they — and their media water carriers — make about their finances.

Bad teams play bad baseball, pt. N+1:

Pirates start 3-5 with a BB and HBP against one of the worst starters in baseball.

Sacrifice bunt!

Pirates are 1-12 since.

I’m sure they just need more revenue sharing and a payroll cap and maybe a pony.

pretty much everything, but if i had to single something out, it's Rey being such a badass. One moment? I'll go with her using the force to get the lightsaber toward the end of Force Awakens. When the lightsaber flies by Kylo
Star Wars Sequel Trilogy is 10 years old, say something you like about it

I like when Unkar Plutt gives Rey “one quarter portion”

Cade Horton with a 1.05 ERA in his last six starts. 0.00 in last four

It is objectively cooler to hit four ding dongs compared to not allowing a hit. Objectively. It is not debatable. bsky.app/profile/matt...
Not only is a 4-HR game far cooler than a no-hitter, I'm triggered at how many people seem to disagree with this opinion. 326 no-hitters vs. 20 4-HR games and look at the reaction from the masses all over social media or anywhere in personal interactions. So many more people care about no-nos. Sigh.

so the Cubs now have the best record in baseball but only a 1-game lead in their division. And the Tigers have the best AL record. Central Strong 💪

Could easily name Sànchez and then replace him with Peterson
It is stupid that All-star replacements are determined by when guys start. We are going to look back and say Ranger Suarez and Cristopher Sanchez weren't All-Stars because they couldn't pitch in the game, but David Peterson is an All-Star.
