So here’s the order of events:

Renee Good: “I’m not mad at you.”

*ICE officer shoots her in the face*

ICE officer: “F**king b*tch”

Trump: “It’s a miracle he’s alive”

Vance: “She was a domestic terrorist.”

they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

We've analysed this video of the shooting of Renee Nicole Good yesterday in Minneapolis frame-by-frame to highlight the positioning of the gun and phone in the ICE agent's hands.

For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies

This is fascism. It's here. It is happening right now.

So many newspaper and network television owners who actively hate their employees (and their customers). They need to find a different business to ruin.

Going to try the @bencollins.bsky.social thing and ask if anyone wants to buy the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette with me. We’ll treat the staff fairly and give Pittsburgh the newspaper it deserves.

I feel the same about Harbaugh as I do about Tomlin. Because they're the same coach. That feeling is: Maybe a new voice is needed. Maybe he wouldn't win big there again. But I think there's a good chance the next guy is less successful/worse.

I’ve worked with too many reporters (all genders, both locally and nationally) who simply have a fetish for law enforcement and the military. Some of the hardest hitting journalism actually comes from former members of the military who don’t have the same fetish.
Former Politico reporter Rachael Bade is the poster child for the DC media disconnect. Grinning with a mimosa in her avatar while treating politics like a game.

Believe it or not, independent journalists can get our own frontline sources.
It’s old-fashioned to defend mainstream journalism these days but some of the most reliable reporting from people actually on the ground will be the AP and Reuters the next 24 hours. Your Substack journalist writing takes will be using frontline reporting from them.

I also love America and believe in its stated values.

And I understand that this pronouncement lands very differently when it comes from an organization that has intentionally been overhauled in order to curry favor with a jingoistic proto-fascist who says his opponents hate the country.
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”
