When it comes to the policies that govern us, we should all be concerned when those in charge find it laughable that someone would point out that the organization responsible for their bill language is a designated hate group.

Losing Nex upended lives in and beyond Oklahoma. There's a profound grief in marking 1 year since Nex died with the conditions that killed Nex having only worsened. I'm grateful to @leximcmenamin.bsky.social for the care with which they told this story, and gave space for our community to reflect.
a year ago 16-year-old Oklahoman Nex Benedict died after a bathroom beating. in the time since, we've lost more trans kids, while losing federal trans rights.

how a community is holding itself together after years of living under Trump's current anti-trans policies at the state level @teenvogue.com

Is it useful for live coverage of committee meetings on this platform? Trying to feel out what a post-twitter strategy looks like in terms of where you look to stay updated and engaged.
Some folks are curious why we track bills that don't explicitly target the 2SLGBTQ+ community. There are a few reasons: our liberation is bound together, just because we're not directly named doesn't mean we're not the intended target, and because some bills have a broad impact worth lifting up.

In House Public Health where there's been a question from the Republican Chair who has authored at least 1 anti-trans bill this session, to make sure a breast cancer screening bill authored by a Dem is available to folks of all genders because everyone can be impacted.

Love any unexpected space to not be subjected to anti-trans language at the #okleg
We're back in room 206 this morning, where the House Public Health Committee is set to hear the second anti-2SLGBTQ+ bill of this session, HB 1688, authored by the Committee Chair Rep Cynthia Roe.

No demand I show my face at the #OKleg security station today. Seems like maybe yesterday's policy might have been more about fear of the dominant public presence at the Capitol being anti-fascist than actual security.

After the recent State of the State address, which failed to adequately address the needs of Oklahomans, it feels like the right moment to share some of the bills we’re tracking this week.

In fun (read not at all fun) new policies at the #okleg, you are apparently forced to unmask briefly at security. I was told it was both "so the system can get a picture of you" and so "everyone at the security desk can see you."

Reminder that Mitt Romney explicitly said the rationale behind the tiktok ban was pro Palestinian content. The renewed push last year was explicitly to help Israel conduct a genocide without scrutiny on social media.
