I find Gmail’s new “write this for me” feature deeply sinister. They’re trying to convince you that you are dumb and helpless. Don’t let them steal your ability to formulate thoughts and communicate. You were capable of writing an email in 2022 and you’re capable now.

maybe big shot creatives shouldn't reach beyond their grasp, maybe limitations in tech and finance create an environment that pushes them to be...well, CREATIVE and figure out a way to execute their vision within possible means, where other creatives and the environment aren't exploited MAYBE

Luckily, I've gotten much better at this lately!
A three panel comic titled "Portion control". A person is looking at art online. At first they are motivated "That's some interesting art... Maybe I should try that too?" They keep looking at more art and feel motivated: "Wow!! These artists are so good! I can't wait to go practise so I can catch up!". As they look at even more art, they get overwhelmed: "They're so many... Why am I even trying...?"

For my last project of 2025 I redrew the March sisters from "Little Women".

Then I made an alternate version where they're all in ornate frames.

Then I turned that into a repeating pattern, which - if I'm honest - is my absolute fav.

a helpful tip I've learned when dealing with AI apologists is that "it's here to stay" always means "I personally don't care that it's bad" and almost always means "maybe I can make some money off it before it collapses"
