Based on my follows, I'm here for depressing news, pretty pictures, indie games and updates from shut-in streamers. This realization should probably have made me rethink things.

people regularly ask me what they should do to prepare for the possibility of mass violence and civil unrest. we give this advice often on It Could Happen Here but this is my list of advice in no specific order:
take a stop the bleed course. get to know your neighbors. Organize in your community. learn about storing food and filtering or otherwise obtaining fresh water. explore radio / ham comms. learn about disaster preparedness. Volunteer.

The Zagreb School of Animation was a wild, totally unique movement. And its rare/obscure films keep getting restored and uploaded for free.

We've put together a new look at what made this group special, and a guide to the work now available:

This book is the best apocalypse novel I've ever read.

Not post-apocalyptic, mid-apocalypse. We see the changes through the perspective of a teen who keeps seeing her world as sort of "normal," even though that keeps changing. She adapts to collapse.
Are you kidding?
It's a good hurt. Like Hank William's at 4am hurt.

It's still one of my favorites

Haven't thought about this one in a long, long time. Colossal Katamari. Probably what most people knew me from before I started working on Owlboy

Brainwide silencing of prion protein by AAV-mediated delivery of an engineered compact epigenetic editor
Prion disease is caused by misfolding of the prion protein (PrP) into pathogenic self-propagating conformations, leading to rapid-onset dementia and death. However, elimination of endogenous PrP halts...

Thecacera pacifica is often referred to as the Pikachu #Nudibranch -it’s apparently quite toxic to anything that might want to chomp on it. Is definitely one of those iconic #Seaslugs

So today’s #Nudibranch is from the Philippines but is found across the wider Indo-Pacific region. This is Goniobranchus collingwoodi and will hopefully assist in brightening your day.

On resistance and flexibility and being prey:

One fascinating thing I learned last year is that prey animals develop defenses at the point of a predator’s most common failure

For example, take clams and other shellfish. Once a predator has broken the shell, there is little that can stop them.

We’re going to see any expression of virtue in the face of vice depicted by legacy media as a vicious attack on an innocent victim
