I don’t think we should have ceded control quite so quickly and without so much as a fight.

This is Violet - isn't she beautiful? For some reasons the other outdoor ducks all picked on her and no matter what social combination we tried she ended up hiding, so we brought her indoors to live with the bunnies and special needs birds.

"What will I do when they start murdering civilians & blatantly lying about it?"
I think a lot of people will, somewhere deep inside, be surprised to discover their actual answer to this question. Mostly 'free speech' campaigners, terminally online 'classical liberals' & self-styled 'libertarians'.

“The Zionist Bolshevists are pure National Socialists”. Here is Klemperer sitting in Dresden reading all he can on Jewish history, Zionism and other things. I can imagine how a Jewish state must’ve seemed appealing, I wonder if he’ll expand on these thoughts. Hoping to learn more about LTI

"A buildup in pressure across the region is propelling wastewater up ancient wellbores, birthing [toxic saltwater] geysers that can cost millions of dollars to clean up."

This in a region where oil and gas companies now take $$$$ in tax credits for squirting CO2 underground for "sequestration."
America’s Biggest Oil Field Is Turning Into a Pressure Cooker
Drillers’ injection of wastewater is creating mayhem across the Permian Basin, raising concern about the future of fossil-fuel production there.

it's crazy that 500 years ago, you would see the ruler of your country maybe once in your life and hear whispers that they're the Sun God, but now with social media, you get to see on a daily basis that they're the most unhinged, idiotic, and unhappy person you know

A year later and I'm happily remembering that Prof Iryna Vushko’s "Lost Fatherland" was a Financial Times book of the year. Hugely impressed and proud.

“Climate action” is just another way to say “we want our beautiful complex planet to continue to be a good place to live, and to continue to be both beautiful and complex”. So much climate damage comes from assuming that Earth is simple, that it is easy to control and that it will bend to our will.

If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"
