Excuse me, I don't think I'll ever get over it how the Ilaid starts. 2 grown men fighting about prizes and essentially, whose dick is bigger.
I can't get over it and I've heard it a bunch of times. Everytime I'm just like really? 😂

I usually read The Quiet Little Woman: A Christmas Story by Lousia May Alcott every year on Christmas Eve or around it. It's 3 short stories. It's a nice spot to read on the couch by the tree.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrates! 🎄

After reading Nutcracker and Mouse King (original Nutcracker story), I just want to know how drunk E.T.A. Hoffman was while writing it?

His themes were ultimately portrayed well (like adults not believing children), I just wanna know what he was on.

Why does physical therapy equipment always have to do with Greek mythology? Like Triton is a cushioned table that can be pushed up and down to sit. Proteus is this fancy technological equipment thing. What does PT equipment have anything to do with the sea and gods?

Christmas tree (partially decorated for now) & donut & The Iliad (keeping the tradition that everytime I buy a used book, Amazon sends me the oldest edition possible)
🎄🍩📖

My goal for next year is to finish The Iliad (which I have barely started).

What's your favorite song based on mythology?

I said, "Bleed me dry, take the fear from my veins
Infuse them with poison, arm me with pain
Let every touch turn man to swine
So not even the gods can take what is mine"

So I've been reading the original Nutcracker story...and so far the introduction analysis is more interesting than the actual story. The writing style annoys me.

I've read Sea of Monster multiple times over the last 18 years. I've been reading the direct source material of the myths this year. I never picked up on this. I thought Eris was a random person. She's the goddess of strife, and works in customer services. 😂

Does anyone else just stop reading a book for a day or two because the character is about to or is doing something stupid? Like why are they doing that? I'm annoyed by those dumb choices. How am I supposed to sit through reading that? 😂

Reread 39/56 chapters from my project I haven't worked on in 3 years. I'm shocked I'm this far because it was really daunting. I hate rereading my own writing and put it off for so long. So I'm kinda proud. Goal is to write a whole chapter by the end of November.

There's Christmas commercials and I'm still accidentally writing the date with 8 instead of 11.

I was looking around on Pluto Channels. I started at Bar Rescue, then CSI NY, and somehow ended up in some documentary about the building of Parthenon on a program called Megapolis: The Ancient World Revealed... when your ADHD hyperfixations are like oil and water #ADHD #hyperfixation

I have modified my nanowrimo I have a lot to catch up on my own writing. 50,000 words when I haven't written a whole chapter for over a year is just setting up myself for failure. So the goal is to write a full chapter which is around 4,000 words. That still counts, right?

Officially at the halfway mark of re-reading my fic so I can finish it after four years. I'm surprised I got this far because I didn't want to read my own writing for at least 2 years.

Not 50,000 words but the goal in November is to finish re-reading and get out a full chapter out.

In my freshman year of college we read Sappho's fragments/poems. I bought it used. I haven't looked at it in over 10 years but I'm 99% sure I was not the artist from these doodles. I like how I just didn't erase them. The writing is definitely mine though.

I've read a fair few Greek myths in different retellings (Percy Jackson's Greek God's, Mythos, Bulfinch, Edith Hamilton) but I think I like James Baldwin' Old Greek Stories my favorite. Probably because he wrote them as "simply as stories". (It's in public domain and free)

I need to scale back because I'm doing that thing when I get overwhelmed and just do nothing. I need to reread the 44 chapters left of my fic. I haven't written a whole chapter in like 3 years. So maybe the goal in November is to just get out a real chapter (~4,000 words)

So preptober without the official nanowrimo but there's Nano 2.0 and ProWritingAid doing it, and there's other. Finally re-reading my 56 chapters fic since almost 4 years because I got hit by a car. I'm making a summary of each chapter.

Library haul. There's a row of books that you can buy for a $1, so I got Ulysses for a dollar.

(The Golem's Eye, Bartimaeus #2 is also in the picture off to the side. Not from the library)
